This is the amount raised from more than 5,000 runners participating in the 'Run for the Heart 2025' race, held on September 28, to fund heart surgeries for children with congenital heart defects.

A journey of spreading love for over a decade

A representative from the organizing unit, Gamuda Land Vietnam, shared that "Run for the Heart" was initiated in 2013 as one of the charity running races aimed at raising funds for surgeries for disadvantaged children suffering from congenital heart defects.

Up until before 2025, the program had raised a total of 46 billion VND, supporting the surgery costs for 1,716 pediatric patients.

With more than 7 billion VND collected during the race on September 28 at the Thu Thiem New Urban Area (HCMC), the program's total fund has been raised to over 53 billion VND. It is estimated that nearly 2,000 children across the country have received or will receive heart surgeries.

"Heal Their Hearts" - a message that touches the community's heart

This year, the program carries the theme "Heal Their Hearts", affirming the spirit of solidarity and sharing among thousands of hearts united for underprivileged children.

In addition to the traditional 5km and 10km routes, a new 1km Fun Run route was added, specifically dedicated to both runners and their pets.

This activity quickly became a highlight, attracting a large number of young families, animal lovers, as well as young children participating in a running race for the first time.

Many children surprised adults by completing the 1km or even 5km distance on their own, demonstrating a resilient spirit and a desire to conquer themselves.

This is also the core value that the program wishes to spread: not only nurturing compassion and social responsibility but also encouraging people to exercise physically, aiming toward a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Sharing about the meaning of the program, Mr. Angus Liew - Chairman of Gamuda Land Vietnam, said: "Run for the Heart has become much more than just a charity race. It is a symbol of solidarity and shared responsibility.

The event has nurtured a spirit of volunteering and a healthy lifestyle. Most importantly, it reminds us that when we act together, we give children with congenital heart defects the chance to grow up healthy and pursue their dreams.
