Small seed packets from Gamuda Land's "Seed Blind Bag" project, distributed free of charge to residents, partners, and employees, serve as a gentle yet practical invitation to together plant green seeds for the future.

Tear Open the "Seed Blind Bag," Open Up a Green Future

The "Seed Blind Bag" initiative was rolled out by Gamuda Land in response to the global campaign "1 Million Trees with Gamuda Land," which was launched in 2021. Each bag carries a message about an eco-friendly lifestyle, offering everyone an opportunity to contribute a small action toward the planet.

Accordingly, each biodegradable paper bag filled with seeds is gifted to residents, partners, and employees, accompanied by planting tools. Recipients get to personally sow their own green sprouts, nurturing and watching over every stage of their growth.

Going beyond merely handing out seeds, the initiative extends into an inspiring, interactive experience: Gamuda Land's employees and partners are encouraged to share photos or videos of their seed-sowing and plant-nurturing journey on social media, with the most engaging content winning special prizes. Though small, these seeds help multiply the community's awareness and emotional connection to the surrounding nature.

Gamuda Land believes that the sustainable development journey always begins with simple, everyday actions. A small bag of seeds, a new habit, or a shared photo can spark an eco-friendly lifestyle and spread positivity throughout the community. This reflects the exact spirit that the Malaysian real estate developer has steadfastly pursued over the years: creating green living spaces where every individual can actively and naturally participate in a sustainable lifestyle.

Sowing from the Foundation, Advancing with Firm Steps

From hand-delivered seed packets to every resident, Gamuda Land's green journey expands through multiple layers—spanning planning, design, construction, operation, and community awareness raising.

Over the years, Gamuda Land has remained steadfast in its "responsible development" strategy, actualized through the comprehensive Gamuda Green Plan. In any project—from Malaysia to Vietnam—Gamuda Land always begins by conducting native ecosystem surveys to ensure that new developments not only "do no harm" but also "restore and add value to the environment."

Clear evidence of this is found in the ESG Impact Report 2024, where Gamuda Land recorded 13 biodiversity surveys across 11 townships in Malaysia and Vietnam. The results revealed 118 plant species and 81 animal species living right within these townships—with the number of rare species rising from 82 to 91 in just two years. These are not just numbers; they serve as a testament to the genuine revival of urban ecosystems driven by the right development orientation.

In Vietnam, two exemplary projects—Gamuda City (Hanoi) and Celadon City (HCMC)—are regarded as models of "greening from the core." Rather than choosing downtown areas for development, Gamuda Land took a bold bet on once-neglected lands, such as the Yen So marshlands or the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, to overhaul the topography, treat wastewater, plant native trees, and cultivate a natural living environment right in the heart of the city.

In tandem with expanding greenery, Gamuda Land is developing sustainable infrastructure, such as bicycle lanes (having completed 97 km out of a 250 km target), sorting 95% of construction waste, and introducing over 1,730 new green spaces in 2024 alone.

A distinctive highlight is the Wetland Forest Ecological Center—a space designed not just for leisure, but for learning, research, and spreading nature conservation messages. Here, residents, children, and even Gamuda employees can join urban ecology classes, igniting a green living spirit from within the community itself.

Moving past physical living spaces, Gamuda Land also invests in the lifestyle spirit. Activities like "Trading Old Clothes for Seeds," interactive biological boards in the parks, or tree-planting days in Thu Duc and the SOS Children's Village in Hai Phong are all organized with the underlying ethos: anyone can contribute to a healthy living environment through real, relatable actions.

All of these actions align with a long-term strategy targeting Net Zero 2050, featuring specific goals such as a 32% reduction in carbon emissions intensity in 2024 compared to the 2022 baseline, and raising the Group-wide renewable energy utilization rate to over 21%.

Above all, what sets Gamuda Land apart does not lie in project scale or deployment speed, but in its community-building mindset—where nature is a core part of residents' lives. These "mini forests in the heart of the city" are formed by rows of trees planted and nurtured by the collective hands of people who truly cherish their surrounding environment.
