Through the connection of the Malaysian Business Chamber Vietnam (MBC), Gamuda Land HCMC (Gamuda Land) donated 600 sets of bedding cushions for Field Hospital No. 8, and 600 sets of medical protective clothing for HCMC Covid-19 Resuscitation Center in order to promptly support the “frontline force” preventing pandemic, and to spread the spirit of responsibility & sharing with society, community.

 

 This activity is part of the “GLCares” program, a series of practical corporate social responsibility activities that the leading township maker from Malaysia is implementing in Ho Chi Minh City during the current outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam in the past two months until now.

At the same time, the company donated 600 sets of medical protective clothing for HCMC Covid-19 Resuscitation Center to support the “frontline force” preventing pandemic

 

Mr. Angus Liew – General Director of Gamuda Land (HCMC), shared: “In our perception, business development must always be associated with community responsibility, GLCares is the program being implemented by Gamuda Land in all countries where our business is present. In Vietnam, GLCares wishes to contribute a little bit of its strength to support people in difficulty of the city, as well as to share the burden with local authorities during this stressful outbreak”.

 

In specific, Gamuda Land has joined hands with the People’s Committee of Tan Phu District providing food, supporting people in difficulty in Tan Phu district. A part of our contribution has also been given to medical teams and volunteers working 24/7 in more than 55 areas under quarantine in Tan Phu District.

Furthermore, Gamuda Land in general and its employees have mobilized donations to establish the “0-dong Food Bank”, which has provided a total of more than 27 tons of rice, 2,700 boxes of instant noodles, and 20 tons of vegetables, along with many other necessities and medical supplies to support sanitation, security workers in Celadon City and poor people of Tan Phu District. The enterprise has also put into operation the Loving Rice ATM (ATM Gạo yêu thương) in Ho Chi Minh City, timely contributing 1.5 tons of rice to the poors in cooperation with the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association.

The Malaysian town-maker didn’t forget to support sanitary and security workers of Celadon City

 

Previously, Gamuda Land and its staff contributed more than VND 330 million to Vietnamese Government’s Covid-19 Vaccine Fund. It is estimated that the total support value of the GLCares program has nearly reached 1.8 billion VND so far. The business representative said that the charitabe activities of GLCares would be continued to spread empathy and support the community until the Covid-19 pandemic situation getting better.

The investor applies disinfection spraying twice a week for the entire residential area and internal premises; lock down parks and public amenities; install hand sanitizer dispensers in lobby halls and elevators; increase the frequency of cleaning… and strictly control people coming in and out at the security checkpoints.
